Fanore (Fán Óir) sits on Galway Bay in County Clare in western Ireland. We spent one week there is a two-bedroom apartment overlooking the bay.
The sunsets over the bay were spectacular and we managed to stay awake for two of them. The sun sets around 10:15 PM this time of the year.
There is a small beach in the village which is popular with tourists and there are even some surfers -- although the waves are not that big. The beach has an orange sand.
